It can be lonely at the end

I was up way too late last night catching up on the news and tracking the state legislative races.  It was an interesting night, with wins and losses on both sides of the political spectrum.  Today was back to business and that included doing more work in the Hollidaysburg office in preparation for closing.  With only 23 days left, I see that we have a lot of work to do.  Adding to the difficulty in getting work accomplished is the fact that the staff of retiring members are looking for work.  I had two staff leave, so far, with another to leave this week.  It’s just the reality of closing down.  I spoke with a House member who is retiring; he had two district staff and both left for other jobs.  He is sharing a staffer with another member for his last month in office.  It can be lonely at the end.
