HOLLIDAYSBURG (July 18, 2018) – State Senator John H. Eichelberger, Jr. (R-Blair), today received the 2018 Legislator Leadership Award from the PA Association of Conservation Districts (PACD).

“The PACD provides outstanding services in communities across Pennsylvania,” said Senator Eichelberger.  “Conservation Districts may be one of the best kept secrets in the state.  They often don’t get the credit they deserve, and it’s an honor that they selected me to receive recognition when it’s a privilege to work with them.”

The PACD enhances locally led efforts that support the wise use of the state’s natural resources.  Over the years the Association has played an integral part in shaping the modern conservation district by providing advocacy, education and training, program coordination and facilitation to districts and their constituents.

Senator Eichelberger was presented with the 2018 Legislator Leadership Award today at the annual PACD Awards Luncheon as part of the PACD/State Conservation Commission Joint Annual Conference in Lancaster.  The award is given to a legislator whose outstanding efforts have helped further the activities and accomplishments of PACD and Pennsylvania’s 66 conservation districts.

Senator Eichelberger served as a director of the Blair County Conservation District Board for 11 years when he was a Blair County Commissioner.  He continues to serve as an associate director.
