This kind of power

Article posted on October 11, 2017

As I’ve mentioned before, sometimes I hit a streak with my schedule where I go to the same area over and over again.  Looking back over the past few days, I was in Fulton County Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, and today.  This morning I spoke to 2nd graders from Cumberland Valley Christian School who were in McConnellsburg on a field trip, I met with constituents in my McConnellsburg office, then went to the ribbon cutting for the new DCNR Resource Management Center at Buchanan State Forest; we also dedicated a new trail there in memory of DCNR employee Chad Strait, who died from cancer earlier this year.  I got back to Blair County for a few hours then drove to Cumberland County for a reception.  I spoke with people today about the budget situation.  There is a better understanding now that the Governor is able to make decisions about spending and borrowing without the approval of the legislature because the remainder of the budget bills were not passed.  It is not appropriate for any Governor to have this kind of power.
