HOLLIDAYSBURG (October 6, 2017) – For his leadership in advancing global education in Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Council for International Education (PACIE) today presented Senator John H. Eichelberger, Jr. with its Friends of PACIE Award.

“I’m honored to be recognized by this visionary organization,” said Senator Eichelberger. “It’s also an honor to work with members as we expand opportunities for future students to succeed and thrive in an international economy.”

To that end, Senator Eichelberger is advocating for the creation of a state Global Education Task Force.  It would produce recommendations for developing global education academic standards across the Commonwealth.  Senator Eichelberger will soon introduce a joint resolution asking for approval in both chambers of the General Assembly to create the task force.

PACIE offers support to a network of educational institutions and professionals in Pennsylvania that prepare students to enter the global marketplace.
