Close a $2 billion hole in the budget

Article posted on October 1, 2017

There wasn’t much in the papers this Sunday.  The apparent budget deal didn’t seem to get anyone’s attention.  I missed church this morning to help out with the Jaffa Shrine’s Gun Raffle, which includes a chicken barbecue lunch.  We prepared about 6,000 dinners and that takes a lot of work from a lot of people.  I left there to stand with hundreds of others again this year at the Life Chain on 17th St. in Altoona.  Each year we stand for the lives of the unborn.  I see many friends, but always meet people who are there for the first time.  As usual, Commissioner Tomassetti, and Representatives McGinnis and Ward were in attendance.  Both chambers will be at the Capitol tomorrow and I expect that we’ll get information about what our leadership and the Governor are proposing to close a $2 billion hole in the budget.  I’ll report on it tomorrow.
