I was honored to attend

Not much in the papers today, at least regarding state government.  We’re back in session tomorrow; maybe they’re waiting to see what happens then.  I attended Don Devoriss’ funeral this morning in Altoona.  There was a large turnout for the service that was largely comprised of personal stories about Don.  Some were funny, some were inspiring.  I’ll keep his family in my prayers as they go through this difficult period.  This afternoon I spoke and played Taps at a dedication service for a monument in remembrance of fallen State Trooper Landon Weaver.  He was from my home town of East Freedom and the Township worked with a local Eagle Scout candidate to establish the memorial.  The State Police had two horses there, one was new to their stable and was named Weaver after Landon.  I was honored to attend.
