Eichelberger, Ward to Host Outdoor and Sportsmen’s Event

HOLLIDAYSBURG (August 3, 2017) – Senator John H. Eichelberger, Jr. (R-Blair) and Representative Judy Ward (R-Blair) are co-hosting an Outdoor and Sportsmen’s Event on Saturday, August 19, 2017, from 9:30 AM to noon at the Geeseytown Fire Hall in Hollidaysburg.

“The event will focus on topics of interest to individuals who enjoy hunting, fishing and boating,” said Ward. “Pennsylvania has one of the country’s largest hunting and fishing populations, which is why we thought an event like this would be of interest to many of our area residents. Folks can get some valuable information and have their questions answered regarding the outdoor recreational pursuit or sport of their choice.”

During the event, representatives from the Pennsylvania Game Commission will update attendees on Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) impacting the state’s deer herd; the Blair County Sheriff’s Office will offer information on concealed carry laws and permits; and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will provide the latest news on area conservation waterways. These informational sessions will take place from 10:30-11:30 AM.

Other representatives from the following organizations will be present throughout the event to answer questions and provide information: Little Juniata River Association, Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, Rails to Trails of Central Pennsylvania, Blair County Conservation District and Canoe Creek State Park.

“We hear regularly from sportsmen and outdoor enthusiasts about issues important to their interests,” said Eichelberger. “This format should be a benefit to them and we hope to see many of these constituents at the event.”

The Geeseytown Fire Hall is located at 215 Mary Street (Route 22), Hollidaysburg, PA, 16648.
