We received more information about our new districts today that I thought was pretty interesting

As I suspected, we had a long caucus meeting this afternoon that included updates of current issues and planning for the next 6 months.   There are 42 session days scheduled between now and June 30th.  There’s speculation about how many we will need to pass the new budget.  I’m betting most of them.  We passed the small games of chance legislation through the Senate today.  It will need to go to the House for concurrence, but it looks like this should be it, finally.  We received more information about our new districts today that I thought was pretty interesting.   Even though the 30th lost 311 square miles of territory, it is still the 4th largest legislative district in the state at 2,584.  The largest is 6,186 and the smallest is 16. We have 98 people per square mile.  The lowest number per square mile is 40 and the highest is over 15,000.  This gives folks an idea of the west vs. east, rural vs. urban diversity of Pennsylvania.  There’s a lot of difference.
