Rep. Jerry Stern and I toured McLanahan Corp. In Hollidaysburg this morning. This business is 175 years old and is still going strong. They work with companies all over the world and understand the issues facing businesses here at home. I ended the day at the Bedford Rotary Club meeting as their speaker. I took questions from the group and heard their concerns about a state government that taxes too much and makes bad policy decisions regularly. I don’t, I really can’t, defend many of the actions made by the Governor and General Assembly over the years. We are now at a tipping point with our unrealistic spending and crushing tax burden. We either change our direction or hoist a flag that bears a hammer and sickle. The hammer and sickle gets my bet until at least the end of the Rendell administration.
