These are the kinds of things that should be exposed

October 18th, 2009

We got a break in the weather today and the week ahead looks good. What a change from the early snow. I put in a few hours at the office today and got more work done at home. There were some interesting stories around the state’s papers today. A couple on the budget that said that the Senate cut its operating budget by 9.5%, the House cut theirs by only 4%. This was a last minute deal by the House to not take the 9.5% cut across the board that was agreed to. These were the first articles I saw on this issue and really missed the points that the difference is so significant and that there was an original agreement to the cuts in both chambers. This issue was typical of the budget debates, people broke deals and grabbed what they could for themselves in some instances. These are the kinds of things that should be exposed and stopped from happening next year.
