The House doesn’t seem to care

Article posted on October 20, 2009

I am back from Harrisburg. I had an early morning meeting of the Local Government Commission, met with a Penn State student that was at the capitol speaking about a project she worked on and met with a group of people that want a single payer health insurance plan in PA. I have met with some of these folks before, they are nice people and well meaning, but I think that they are dead wrong on this issue. I also had some time today to clean up my desk at the capitol. During the budget process, papers piled up because I was afraid to throw anything out that was still under debate. The many variations of budget lines in July, August or September are not worth much these days so they went to file 13. I am not sure when I will be back in session. I have a meeting next Monday morning in Harrisburg and will keep up with any work then. Our schedule is still very much up in the air. Who knows when the final pieces of the budget will come together. The House doesn’t seem to care.
