It’s nice to have a special day now and then

September 1st, 2009

Day 63 without a real budget. I got some work done today, but not as much as usual. Today is my birthday, so I ran 10 miles this morning, washed the truck, and did a few other things around the house before hitting the office. The staff had a pie for me (I prefer pie over cake, any day) and a card. It’s nice to have a special day now and then. Each day in the district during this budget situation is another day of answering questions, talking to people who don’t have funding and trying to take care of the other issues that are always present. The world doesn’t stop because there is not a budget in place. People need help with various issues as do businesses, non-profits and local governments. Our job is to try our best each day to help where we can. I appreciate the staff I have, it’s not always an easy task, but they do their best.
