As much a part of the Rendell legacy as anything else
July 5th, 2009After church this morning I went to the Blair County Tea Party event in Hollidaysburg. There were 500 to 700 people there for a good program with three main speakers, Pastor Gary Dull, Dr. John McGinnis and James Woomer. The crowd loved the calls for less government and lower taxes and the criticisms of our Governor, our President and U.S. Senator Arlen Specter among some other targeted figures. The bottom line for this group and many people today is that they have had it with big government taking more and more of their money and more and more of their freedoms. Many people are scared about the future of this country after seeing the dismantling of much of our capitalist structure by those in Washington over the past six months. They also spoke about the state government breaking our constitutional mandate of producing a budget in time, 7 years in a row. That is as much a part of the Rendell legacy as anything else.
