No wonder people don’t have any confidence in their state legislature

June 2nd, 2009

I had a series of meetings this morning on various subjects. The Marriage Protection Amendment was one and all of the media wants to know the details about the specific language, when it will be introduced and how many co-sponsors I have. We’ll release more information soon, for now, I’m not telling. The big news on the budget today is that the House Democrats say that they will run and vote for SB 850 next Monday. I heard that one of the House D’s said that the Senate Republicans really don’t want the bill passed and they will vote on it to call our bluff. This is the kind of nonsense that goes on down here. Instead of doing the right thing, games are played. It’s no wonder that the people of this state don’t have any confidence in their state legislature.
