What nice people

This morning I attended the opening ceremony for the Allegrippis Trail system at Raystown Lake. After a number of us spoke to a crowd of media, cyclists and tourism professionals, we cut the ribbon and took an inaugural ride. The organizers of the event had mountain bikes for us to use, nice ones. I learned that the average rider for this type of trail spends between 1,000 and 3,000 dollars on their bike. The technology on the bikes we used this morning was phenomenal. I was with the Colonel in charge of the Army Corps of Engineers for the ride, he said that his bike was like a Jaguar. These trails are well designed and well built. The expectations are to attract 9,800 people each year to ride these trails. A ended the day back in Huntingdon County at the Smithfield Fire Hall for the Friends of the NRA dinner. I lady from Huntingdon County gave me an “Ike” pin that she got in 1956 from her dad for voting in her first election. What a nice gesture, I couldn’t thank the lady enough. I’ll treasure this along with the “Ike” cuff links I got from a family in Hollidaysburg. What nice people.
