I met with constituents this morning then spoke at a luncheon in Altoona. The lunch group was life and health insurance people. I knew a number of them and could talk their language. This evening I had a Town Hall meeting in Needmoore, Fulton County. We had 30 people show up and they had lots of questions. Health care was the big topic with a few of the attendees actively pushing a single payer system that they claim would save millions of dollars in PA. They asked me to sign on to a resolution in Harrisburg to do a study on this idea and I said no. The other big topic tonight was the budget. We talked about a lot of numbers and had handouts explaining where we are with the current budget, how we got there and our plan to move ahead (SB 850). I think that things went well, I enjoyed it.
