We all feel good about what we accomplished

April 4th, 2009

This morning, after my men’s fellowship group at the Light House, Charlotte and I joined some of my staff for the Little Juniata River Clean Up at the Spruce Creek United Methodist Church. This is the second year that we helped out with the event and we had a good time. We took what we found out later was the toughest part of the river, a remote stretch with a very steep bank. We must have cleaned up about a half a mile and retrieved the usual garbage including tires, bottles, scrap metal, a television and a recliner chair (nice in its day). The ladies at the church prepared a delicious lunch that featured their homemade soups for all of the volunteers. I appreciated staff giving up most of their Saturday to a worthy cause, Colleen and her husband Fulton came in from Harrisburg and Michele, Jen, Charlie and his wife Judy all worked. We’re all tired, but I think that we all feel good about what we accomplished.
