Now that’s a job well done

April 6th, 2009

I got a 6 mile run in this morning then hit the office for some appointments before going out to two lunch meetings. This afternoon, I met with staff and my friend Jeff Coleman at Penn State Altoona to prepare for my student program that is coming up soon. The William Penn Leadership Program brings 11th grade students to the campus where they get a taste of state government. We are looking forward to another great group of kids this May. We got a nice email today from Bill Anderson, the President of the Little Juniata River Association. In it, he bestowed to us an award for our work on Saturday, he called it the “Tuffest Trash Pickers Award” also known as the “Tuffy”. This award is in recognition of the work we did on a steep, dare I say treacherous, stretch of stream bank that had never been part of the Association’s clean-up before. I’m sure that Bill offers this in jest, but we’ll take the accolades for the work we did on that cold and windy morning. Seriously, Bill and his wife deserve the credit for all of their effort in organizing and working the event, now that’s a job well done.
