I made a rare Sunday night appearance in Harrisburg. The Pennsylvania School Boards Association’s conference is this weekend and they invited me to attend their legislative dinner this evening. The Education Committee Chairs of the House and Senate were the speakers. Jeff Piccola, the Senate Chair, did a great job. He answered some tough questions from the crowd of school board directors about charter schools and testing. His answers were fair and honest. All too often I see people cater to their crowd and not provide true information. Jeff told it like he saw it. I am at the capitol now getting a little bit of a head start on the week, I can really use it. I have several committee meetings this week and a Local Government Commission meeting. Maybe I can clone myself before Wednesday.
