I’ll keep you posted

As I said yesterday, this morning was the Senate Law and Justice Committee’s hearing with the PLCB. Although I don’t serve on this committee, I was asked, along with Senator Jane Orie, to attend if I wanted to ask the PLCB any questions about the recent contract they entered into to improve employee performance. Aside from the obvious discussion about the necessity of this $173,000 contract in these tight financial times, I have identified two other significant concerns. One, is the company doing the work, actually going to get it done for $173,000 or are they going to submit additional invoices for work that they will argue they should have as part of the contract and, two, did the PLCB employee who’s husband has an ownership interest in the company that got the contract, provide any information to her husband that would give her husband’s company an unfair advantage in getting the bid. I will be sending a formal request to the PLCB for information about this bid including all email transactions between the employee and everyone who designed the bid specifications and, or made the bid award. I’ll keep you posted.
