I won’t be one of them

I had an unusual day at the capitol today in that I never went to my office until after 5:30 in the evening. I got to Harrisburg just before session at 1:00 and had staff meet me in the chamber to give me my green book (the book that has the bills in that we are voting on for the day) and take my coat and brief case. I left the chamber and went to a caucus meeting, then to a Senator’s office then to a meeting downtown then I came back to the capitol to my office, I hope that things go smoother tomorrow. I am afraid, and have been afraid that we will end up with a tax increase this year. The budget shortfall is getting worse and people are talking tough but still want their particular interests covered in the budget. These are the signs that in the end, when push comes to shove, that many members will cave in and vote for tax increases to get the programs or projects they want. I won’t be one of them if tax increases are involved.
