I was in Harrisburg all day. This morning I had my quarterly Governor’s Advisory Board on Parole meeting. I represent the Senate at these meetings that are focused on county parole issues.. I had lunch with my friend Jeff Coleman and stopped into The Commonwealth Foundation to meet with Matt Brioullette. We conservatives see some opportunities in the coming year. We have a chance to take a new look at how we construct our state budget. We can cap spending and exercise more oversight. Both prudent measures that were discussed before, but should receive more attention during these tough economic times. I’m convinced that we can make some changes that will help the citizens of our state for decades to come. We need to have the courage to tackle big cuts and new ways of doing business.
