I had an office appointment today and spent some time with staff on scheduling and other things then had a Town Hall Meeting tonight in Manns Choice, Bedford County. We had 39 people at the meeting and had a number of good questions including:: why is the price of health insurance so much, what is going to happen to electricity rate caps, why don’t we sell the state liquor stores, did my bonus ban bill pass, where money is from a Growing Greener grant, how are the lottery funds used and a number of questions about leasing the Turnpike from a group of Turnpike employees. All in all things went pretty well. I’ve said it before, these meetings and things like this are how you really find out what people think and what they expect from their government. You can’t get this perspective working in your office in Harrisburg..
