The aftermath stories about the Bonusgate investigation were numerous today. A lot more information is surfacing including how many hundreds of years of prison time these people face, if convicted. I sent out a news release this morning asking about my Bonus Ban bill that is still in the House State Government Committee. The Senate passed this bill unanimously on October 17, 2007 and it hasn’t seen action since. Statements from the Speaker and Majority Leader of the House were issued yesterday about how many steps they have taken to stop future problems like the one that we see unfolding. I think that an obvious piece to this new found house cleaning is the law that would stop bonuses. I will be writing to all of the House leadership asking for this bill to be moved through the process. I have a Blair County Farm Bureau picnic tonight and Charlotte is going with me. We will get a good meal and be with some nice people. I have a pretty full schedule over the weekend but really need to get in some work time, but that is easier said than done.
