Plain and simple

July 8th, 2008

I have been stepping up my running miles for the past few weeks. I did 22 a week for a couple of years but wanted to get into a little better shape this summer so I went 30 miles two weeks ago and 40 miles last week. I am on pace this week to do a few more than that but I’ll see how I feel. I am getting caught up on some letters and emails a little this week and trying to get back to people who had questions about the budget that I didn’t get to before it was passed. I did another interview today on the absence of funding for the counties to pay their full time DA’s. This is a hot topic that I hope is taken care of when we return in the fall. The state owes this money to the counties, plain and simple.

Its good that you are stepping up your physical fitness program, just watch out for leg or foot problems from too many miles running on pavement.
Is there any chance the legislature will step up the efforts to reform itself?
How about a law prohibiting legislative staffers from working on political campaigns? Maybe an open budget process? Perhaps a sunshine law that was enforced by the attorney general and applied to the legislature?
