Cleanup in Huntingdon and a pro-life dinner

April 5th, 2008

Since I had early mornings and late nights all week, I had a tough time getting my 22 miles of running in. I got up at 5:00 this morning to finish up for the week, my record’s still in tact. I went to my men’s fellowship this morning but had to leave early to get to a community event that my staff and I committed to doing. It was a stream clean up in Spruce Creek, Huntingdon County. There were a total of 80 volunteers on the stream banks this morning picking up cans, bottles, tires and other forms of just junk. Our office supplied 16 of the workers, which included spouses, children and friends of my staff. We got a lot of work done, had a good time and helped our community; that’s a good morning. I got a little work done this afternoon and attended the Bedford County Citizens Concerned for Human Life’s Annual Banquet. The featured speaker was Michael Clancy, a photographer who took a very famous shot, used initially by “USA Today”, of a 21 week old baby still in the womb, who reached out and grabbed the doctor’s finger. He was great, what a story he told of the absolute proof that babies are alive in the womb. His photo of Baby Samuel was part of the partial birth abortion fight in congress. This man has made a real difference with his profession. He is an example of what any of us can do by sticking to our principles and the truth.
