A crazy schedule
April 4th, 2008I commented last night about the early mornings I have this week, well I have had late evenings too. Last night, I was in Bedford County with the school boards and superintendents and was hoping to get back in time to catch a little of the Altoona Curve’s home opener. As I was coming up over Catfish Ridge near Hollidaysburg, I could see the end of the game fire works, I was too late. I never missed a home opener for the first 7 years but have missed the last three. Anyway, after presenting a senate citation to Joe Keller from Keller Engineers this morning in recognition for his national honor from the Small Business Administration I headed to State College for Senator Jake Corman’s student event. I enjoyed speaking with the kids and was pleased that the bill that I was there to argue for had the votes to make it through committee. I met with more school directors and superintendents at lunch and met with the department heads at Altoona City Hall this afternoon. I have to go to Fulton County tonight and have a pretty full day tomorrow, what a week. The legislation that appears to really be heating up is a bill introduced by Senator Don White to put some parameters on the merger of Highmark and Independence Blue Cross. I signed on today as a co-sponsor. This is a very important issue.
