A busy day in Harrisburg

April 9th, 2008

I had a busy day today with visits from students and staff from St. Francis University and Juniata College. We had an interesting Aging and Youth Committee hearing this morning concerning how money should be divided between nursing home care and services to keep people in their homes. This is a pretty heated battle with the providers and can be emotional to the seniors. We had a long list of bills today at session and a fairly long caucus meeting. I have five receptions planned for tonight and probably won’t get to them all, I can’t be two places at the same time. I just hope that I don’t miss anyone from the district who is in Harrisburg with their association and is expecting me to stop by.
