No news is good news

I got to the Hollidaysburg office tonight about 6:45, home from the capitol.  Jason High came in with me and helped unload three pieces of furniture from my truck.  I picked up some of the last items from the Senate warehouse, used stuff but nice.  I am glad to be back and am still thinking about the past three days of votes and discussion on the bills before us.  I did an interview this evening with the associated press about the energy bills that were voted today.  I was one of a few “no” votes on the three bills.  I have commented on this topic over the past several blog posts and don’t want to repeat myself tonight, but I don’t think that our approach to this issue was sound scientifically or economically.  It is unfortunate, in my opinion, that this was the final topic of session for the year.  We did do some good things this year and prevented some bad things.  The press is not happy with the lack of productivity of the legislature, but in many instances, no news is good news for the people of Pennsylvania.
