Appeasing the Governor and hurting Pennsylvania’s economy

Session ended tonight at about 8:00.  I met with staff to go over a number of issues and am finishing up some paperwork.  We are getting some of the original agenda done this week but not all.  The open records bill will not be done nor will the energy bills from the special session.  The HSCA or hazardous sites cleanup bill will be done and the MCare bill may be done.  Several other bills are iffy at this point and no one is quite sure what will happen in the House, as usual.  I am not supportive of most of this week’s agenda.  We are again, borrowing money, spending money and growing government.  We are again appeasing the Governor and hurting Pennsylvania’s economy.  Unfortunately, time passes before the effect of each damaging step we take to over tax and over regulate the people of this state is evident.  The fundamental approach to the issues of the day is too liberal, too compromising and too expensive.  Often, what is known by members and what is done by members are two different things.  I hope that one day this will change
