I left for Harrisburg this morning with an extra office chair from Hollidaysburg in the front seat of my truck. I have carried a lot of furniture for the offices in that truck and this morning brought a chair to Harrisburg to be put into the warehouse for someone else to use, we had one too many. Session was short today but we had a long and interesting caucus meeting on PHEAA. The bonus ban legislation received a positive editorial today from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette; they really seemed to understand the bill and its purpose. I understand that the Auditor General spoke at the Pennsylvania Press Club luncheon today and talked about the bill. He was generally favorable but was a little confused about the language pertaining to performance based payments. I spoke to the Associated Press after his speech to clarify the bill. I didn’t think that this bill was as complicated as some people have made it. It is a big departure from current practice but I thought a straight forward change. On another note, I think that we are keeping the Airedale pup we picked up on Saturday. We still don’t have the official o.k. from the Rescue folks but things look good. She gets spayed tomorrow so keep her in your prayers.
