I did something today that I rarely do, I dressed casually for the office. I spent the entire day, except for a lunch meeting, at the Hollidaysburg office moving filing cabinets and a few other pieces of furniture. I still need to spend some time adjusting things but we have a lot done in that office. This evening I attended a program in Johnstown with the Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance where grant checks were distributed to various art groups from western Pennsylvania. We had a number of organizations from the 30th district and I met all of the people present. The groups ranged from operas and ballet companies to juried art shows and jazz festivals. It was an interesting group of people and they treated me very well. I do get to meet some interesting folks in this job and I never lose sight of that. If you stop learning about this area and the things that occur in this great state, it is time for you to step down from public service. - John
