Two new members of the Pennsylvania Senate were profiles in courage during the budget process. But the challenge to stop excessive state spending is far greater than they realize.Sens. Mike Folmer, R-Lebanon, and John Eichelberger, R-Blair, were the only ones in the Republican-controlled, 50-member body who opposed the final version of the budget. The two — elected in November as reformers of the dysfunctional state government — rightly said the budget’s increased spending is excessive.
