Typical day at the Capitol

Article posted on June 11, 2007

I started this morning in Catherine Baker Knoll’s office with a delegation from the Ivory Coast on the continent of Africa.  They were here to develop business directly with companies in Pennsylvania.  Their primary products are cocoa beans and coffee.  They spoke french and had an interpreter with them, thank goodness, my three years of French weren’t quite good enough.  1st Church of Christ Pastor John Collins came in today to be the Senate Chaplain and give the invocation at session.  He’s a great guy, it’s always nice to see people from home at the capitol.  Hopefully we will learn more about the budget this week.  Not much was said today.  The big discussion was about the smoking ban bill, which is moving soon.
